Please post software issues here.  Be sure to include the specific Wild Ginger program AND version.  If you are getting any error messages, please post the actual error message.

Most often, in the folder where your program is installed, you will see a file called error.txt.  It will contain a list of error messages.  You can send this file to support@wildginger.com.

I am just attempting to update the software to the October 2021 version, and I am finding it to be very tricky.
It seems that the software expects me to have installed the software in the root directory of the computer. As my April 2021 version is not installed there, it now installs a new version in the root directory without updating my original installation.
Is there anyway to fix this, as in point it to my original install directory?

The program is supposed to be installed in the c directory. I’m not sure how you installed it someplace else since there’s not a destination folder option. The update installation will only install to the c directory. If your program isn’t installed there you will need to uninstall it and reinstall it in the  c directory

Not sure how it happened, but I have definitely had that installed in that location for over year.
Is there a clean way to move the installation?

As in is there a way to export the charts, measurements, styles, etc. from one install to another?

Yes, you can reinstall without losing your data. Follow the instructions at the link below.  You will need to uninstall both the update and the original installation and delete both folders before reinstalling.  Make sure to back up your data as detailed at the link.
