Seam direction question

Need help. Which way to “press” seam before I top stitch. It’s the panel jacket in buckskin so no seam rippers involved. Has to be right first time.

My preference would be to press the seam open and top stitch on both sides to reduce bulk.  You could also do a mock flat felled seam.  Trim the under seam close to the stitching line and press the outer seam over it and top stitch.  I think direction is really personal preference.
